Remember the Love, Celebrate the Life, Share the Journey
TAPS (Tragedy Assistance for Survivors) Good Grief Camp is held in Arlington, Virginia, each Memorial Day Weekend for the children who are survivors of the fallen heroes in the war. The children are enrolled in five days of classes and exercises to learn to cope with their loss...thus "remembering the love,
celebrating the life, and sharing the journey". To help them through this time, Project Linus is there for them giving each child a security hug with one of our very special blankets or quilts.
If local volunteers are interested in making a blanket for TAPS Good Grief Camp, Project Linus of Story County will collect these blankets until April 30th when we will ship all TAPS blankets to Arlington. This year, we will need 1500 donations nationally.
Patriotic colors and themes are chosen first by these children. The TAPS Coordinator has requested that no black blankets be sent. Thank you for your contributions!
